How Much Does Austin Wedding Signage Cost?

September 21, 2026

We hear this question often, and usually early in the process: how much does wedding signage actually cost? And honestly, we get why it’s one of the first things you want to know. When you’re staring down a hundred different line items for your wedding, signage can feel like this mysterious add-on nobody wants to put a real number on. So let’s fix that today. Because we’re a fully custom studio, Austin wedding signage doesn’t come with one flat price tag you can point to. It comes with a minimum spend, and from there, you get to decide what that investment actually looks like for your day.

Here’s what we’re covering:

  • The short answer on cost
  • What actually pushes your investment higher
  • Is custom signage worth it compared to renting or DIY?
  • When to start the process (and why waiting too long costs you more)
  • A real pricing breakdown from one of our weddings
  • Where to prioritize your investment first
  • FAQs about wedding signs

The Short Answer

We believe signage should integrate seamlessly into your event design, not feel separate or secondary from everything else you’re planning. That’s part of why it’s not a flat, one-size-fits-all price. Because we are such a custom service, we require a minimum spend. With that minimum, you get to pick and choose your items to meet it, and what that looks like is different for every couple. Some of our couples choose to get as many small detail items as possible to hit that minimum: place cards, a bar menu, table numbers. Others would rather put it all toward one showstopper, like a statement seating chart.

Signage can cover a lot more ground than most couples expect too: welcome installations, seating charts and escort displays, ceremony programs and directional signage, bar menus and signature drink displays, table numbers and place settings, and custom builds or large-scale installations. Not every wedding needs all of it. That’s exactly why we build your collection around what your day actually calls for.

For reference, our digital collections start at $2,500, and the average investment for a fully custom signature collection is $4,500 and up. That range isn’t arbitrary. It reflects design time, materials, and the level of customization you’re asking for, which brings us to the next question we get constantly.

What Actually Pushes Your Investment Higher

It is almost always higher guest counts and custom builds. Individual items like place cards and menus can range between $2 and $5 each, so higher guest counts for those smaller pieces add up fast, even before you get to the bigger installations.

Custom builds require design, materials, fabrication, labor, delivery, and installation, and each of those steps pushes the investment higher too. We select materials to complement your venue and aesthetic, whether that’s refined acrylic, layered paper, painted canvas, wood, or a specialty substrate, and that choice alone can shift the cost quite a bit. Depending on how large the installation is, we will likely need two to three installers onsite to bring it to life. For any custom build or large installation over five feet, we almost always have to add on a U-Haul rental too. It’s a small logistical detail, but it’s a real part of the cost.

Is Custom Signage Worth It Compared to Renting or DIY?

It’s a fair question. Our honest answer comes down to time, troubleshooting, and what you plan to do with your signage after your wedding.

Most couples don’t realize how many hours go into producing signage, especially large scale pieces. Then you have to factor in the cost of materials and tools, if you don’t already own them (we do 😉). From there, are you engineering these pieces to actually withstand the day? We have a lot of outdoor setups, and wind is a huge factor here in Texas. We handle all of that logistics work for our couples and carry the insurance your venue will likely require.

Now think about your wedding day itself. Who’s setting all of this up for you? You should be enjoying your day, not sweating through a setup or troubleshooting something that went wrong. And then think about the end of the night. Do you really want to stop having fun to break down these pieces and load them into your car?

Let’s say you make it past the DIY route and the wedding day install. Now what? What are you going to do with these pieces? Most couples think they can sell them on Facebook Marketplace or somewhere similar. The truth is, they don’t sell nearly as fast as couples think, and you end up storing them in your garage for the unforeseeable future.

Trust us when we say the investment is really about us handling all of the above headaches for you, leading up to your wedding day, on your wedding day, and even after your wedding day.

Client Love

“Eventive Designs was so lovely to work with for my wedding. We thought we could handle our signage on our own, and boy were we mistaken! So, we reached out to Michelle and her team very late into the process and they didn’t hesitate to be extremely helpful, communicative, and proactive on what we had left to accomplish in such little time before the big day.” – Sophie Loza-Garcia

✨ You can see exactly what that craftsmanship looks like up close in this before-and-after breakdown from some of our recent signage installs, from rough mock-up to the finished piece.

When to Start the Process (and Why Waiting Too Long Costs You More)

The earlier, the better. We cannot say that enough.

When couples come to us too late in the game, we are very restricted on what we’re able to produce for them. There will not be custom upgrades like watercolor artwork or a pet illustration for your bar menu. There will not be a custom monogram. And there will not be upgraded materials for signs on fabric, acrylic, and the like. You’ll be limited to basic, flat print on paper. There will also not be custom cups, koozies, or matchbooks. We don’t like telling couples no, but that’s the hard truth when couples wait too long!

When couples come to us sooner, we can plan together so that if you decide you want to start small and add on later, we can make that happen. When we first meet and start working together, you do not need to have everything figured out. We start by gathering the basic details we need, then stay in touch with you throughout the design process as we approach deadlines for customization.

Numbers are so much easier to picture with a real example, so here’s the full signage collection from Taylor and Jonathan’s Valentine’s Day wedding, a moody, deep red and burgundy celebration with a fully custom seating chart wall, three separate bar menus, and every detail styled to match.

This particular collection leaned heavily custom, especially that seating chart wall, which is exactly the kind of piece that pushes an investment well past our starting point. Your day might call for a fraction of this list, or a similar amount spread across entirely different pieces. That’s the whole point of building your collection around what your wedding actually needs.

Where to Prioritize Your Investment First

Good signage does one job above everything else: it guides your guests effortlessly through each moment of your day. So if you’re trying to prioritize where to invest in your signage, we’d tell you to start with your seating chart, table numbers, dinner menus or place cards if they’re required, and your bar menus. Those are the pieces that actually affect the flow and ease of your guest experience.

If you need to simplify, the first pieces we’d suggest letting go of are welcome signs, guest book signs, unplugged signs, and any signage that isn’t essential to that flow and ease.

Your Other Wedding Signage Questions, Answered

Is delivery and setup included in the cost of my signage, or is that extra?

Great question, and one that comes up often. For custom builds and larger installations, delivery, setup, and breakdown are part of what you’re investing in. That’s exactly what covers the labor, the installers onsite, and yes, even the U-Haul when a piece calls for it. You’re not just paying for a sign, you’re paying for it to actually be standing (and looking right) when your guests walk in.

How do I choose the right wedding signage designer in Austin?

Look for someone who treats your day as fully custom, not templated. You want a team that asks about your story and your vision instead of asking you to pick a design off a shelf. And make sure they’re the ones handling delivery, installation, and insurance, not leaving that on you or your planner.

Where can I find wedding signage ideas and inspiration?

We’re a little biased, but our Pinterest is a great place to start if you want inspiration that’s actually achievable, not just aspirational! It’s full of real signage we’ve designed for real Austin weddings, so you’re seeing what’s possible rather than falling down the same Pinterest rabbit hole that leaves so many couples without any real direction.

Are the individual pieces rented, or do I keep them?

Some of the hardware, think easel stands, platters, frames, and vessels, comes from our own working collection, and we reuse and maintain those across weddings. What’s fully custom to you is everything that actually shows: the paper, the fabric print, the lettering, the monogram, the design itself. So while an easel stand might show up at someone else’s wedding down the road, the design built around it is entirely yours.
